Acquisition of part of the Optical Metrology business unit

We are pleased to announce that APTOMET AG has acquired part of the calibration laboratory of opto.cal gmbh with effect from 1 October 2026. opto.cal gmbh will continue to operate, retaining its testing laboratory, consultancy and engineering divisions.

As an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration laboratory (SCS 0058) with over 19 years’ experience, APTOMET AG possesses extensive expertise in the fields of electrical engineering, high frequency, EMC, temperature, pressure, fibre optics and communications technology. With our head office in Gümligen and our branch in Fehraltorf, we are ideally positioned to continue running this business division in the long term whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.

Whilst the founders will continue to manage opto.cal gmbh, we are particularly pleased to welcome opto.cal’s former deputy head of calibration to the APTOMET AG team as a metrology engineer. In doing so, we are ensuring that existing specialist knowledge is retained and that you will continue to have access to your usual points of contact and our proven expertise in the future.

The radiometric and photometric quantities currently included within the scope of opto.cal gmbh’s accreditation (SCS 0053) will be integrated into the scope of APTOMET AG’s accreditation (SCS 0058) with effect from 1 October 2026.

The relocation of the laboratory to Gümligen is scheduled to take place in conjunction with the interim audit at the end of 2026. Until then, the Movelier site will continue to operate as a branch of APTOMET AG, ensuring that your usual processes continue without interruption.

For customers of opto.cal gmbh, the calibration procedures, the scope of services and the agreed terms and conditions will remain unchanged.
