Official verification of measuring transformers at APTOMET AG
Published on 07/31/2026

APTOMET AG is now an authorised testing laboratory for measuring transformers. This enables us to carry out the initial verification of inductive current and voltage transformers via the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). The tests are carried out independently of the manufacturer in our accredited Swiss laboratory.
Legally compliant measurements for energy billing
Measuring transformers play a central role in the reliable metering and billing of electrical energy. Where current or voltage transformers are used for measurements relevant to billing, the legal requirements regarding measurement accuracy and mandatory calibration must be met.
This applies in particular to:
- Energy supply companies and network operators
- System integrators who incorporate measuring transformers as OEM components into their systems
- Suppliers and service providers involved in smart meter and energy meter roll-outs
- Companies that require or distribute calibrated measuring transformers for high-current metering applications
With official initial calibration by APTOMET, manufacturers, plant engineers and energy suppliers are provided with a reliable basis for the legally compliant use of their measuring transformers.
